Meet the new 650b gravel wheelset G25. It has everything a gravel rider or backpacker needs in the 650B size.

At 27.5” diameter, performance strikes a happy medium between 26” and 29” wheels. Fatter tires and lower pressures guarantee a stable, comfortable ride, somewhere between the sharp responses of a 26” MTB wheel and the smoothness of a 29er. And it’s popular among shorter riders, who find a 29” wheel is too tall for them.

The entire wheelset mass is only 1340 grams. With an internal width of  25mm, the carbon rims can take tires measuring between 35mm and 50mm.

They give what enthusiasts call “a real MTB” feel” on a rough or unstable surface. And they are ready to go tubeless. The lay up is in Toray T700 fiber, for a rim that’s 35mm deep. Black alloy spoke nipples match the rim color, and the 24 tough spokes are Sapim CX-Ray, laced in two-cross pattern.

The disc brake hubs are the new ICAN D21 – thru-axle centerlock,12x100mm in front,12x42mm rear, and ready for disc brakes. The rear freehub is a marvel in itself, with six pawls, and no less than 72 attachment points. Freewheel, and listen to that sweet buzz! It’s ready to take a Shimano 10 or 11 speed cassette – or a Sram XDR.

It is better to use 24mm tape to the G25 wheels.
